PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

These 32 Cause and Effect Task Cards for Winter are Common Core aligned and will help your students practice the tricky skill of determining cause and effect. These cards will give your students lots of focused practice with this skill using a fun, winter themed format.

I just love task cards and think they are such a versatile tool for the classroom. You can use them in a literacy center, in small groups, or even individually. They’re always great for fast finishers too! Another option is to use one card at a time with the whole class. I like to keep a stack of cards on my desk that go with whatever concept we're working on and pull a few of them out to do together whenever we have a few extra minutes.

My favorite way to use task cards though, is to use them as a rotational activity. Simply print out the record sheet for each child and station the cards at different places around the room. You can call "Scoot" after a few minutes and kids rotate to the next station. Or depending upon the class, you can let the kids rotate to any card that's open. I love to send them on this "scavenger hunt" in buddies because I like to hear the kids collaborating on their answers. Kids love the movement too and it's always neat to see them really enjoying an activity and learning at the same time.

The task cards can be printed in color or grayscale and can be laminated and used again and again. Baggies are great to store them in or you could hole punch each card's corner and put them all on a ring. A plastic shoe box with dividers works really well to keep them organized.

******* Please note: These task cards may be purchased separately but they are also included in the complete Winter Literacy Set for 4th/5th grades.
