PRINT ON CARD STOCK and LAMINATE FOR DURABILITY
I have used these in stations during short days. My students loved it and benefited very much from a 25 minutes period. I asked students to do at least 3 cards from every group. I also emphasized that no more than 4 people per group.
These task cards are designed to capture the differentFactoring Techniques. There are a total of 55 Task Cards which cover:
☑ Station (1): Factor GCF (Cards: #1 – #5)
☑ Station (2): Factor 3 Terms (a = 1) (Cards: #6 – #10)
☑ Station (3): Factor 3 Terms (a is prime) (Cards: #11 – #15)
☑ Station (4): Factor 3 Terms & GCF (Cards: #16 – #20)
☑ Station (5): Factor By Grouping (Cards: #21 – #25)
☑ Station (6): Factor Perfect Square Trinomial (Cards: #26 – #30)
☑ Station (7): Factor Difference of Two Squares (Cards: #31 – #35)
☑ Station (8): Factor Sum of Two Cubes (Cards: #36 – #40)
☑ Station (9): Factor Difference of Two Cubes (Cards: #41 – #45)
☑ Station (10): Factor Quadratic Form (Cards: #46 – #50)
☑ Station (11): Applications (Cards: #51 – #55)
Also, the cards are available in different sizes to choose from for printing:
✐ 1 card per page
✐ 4 cards per page
The RECORDING SHEET is available in two different formats:
✭ Blank sheet
✭ 3 per group sheet (without numbers to do selected cards)
Additionally, I have also included a PROGRESS MONITORING SHEET which could be used to reflect the status of each student. This tracking sheet is to help identify where every student is and whether s/he need any help or have any issues.
These 55 task cards could be used as a review of the different factoring techniques listed above. They could be used in stations, in pair share, in cooperative learning, as exit tickets, as entrance tickets, as to do now, while absent,... etc.
These task cards are included in two different formats.
• One format include the answer as a QR code which requires the QR scanner app. In this case, students could check their answers independently and evaluate their understanding which is an awesome way to encourage "independence".
• The other format is just simply the task cards without the QR code printed on the card.
One last powerful item included in this set is a ANSWER KEY to share with students for independence. Keep in mind that the step by step answers are one approach of many available.
