These Task Cards are meant to help students identify some physical and chemical changes in the world around us. This is a general list of physical and chemical changes. The two TEKS below are where students will encounter a more in depth experience with physical and chemical changes.
TEK 8.5E Investigate how evidence of chemical reactions indicate that new
substances with different properties are formed.
TEK 7.6B Distinguish between physical and chemical changes in matter in the digestive system.
When looking at a task card, the student will be presented with a situation in which they need to know whether or not the situation contains a physical or chemical change. If it contains a chemical change, then the student must give at least one piece of evidence of it being a chemical change. (You can adjust the number if you so choose) These task cards can be used in a variety of ways. You can hang them up in your classroom as is or in hallways for kids to work on answering the different portions of each card. They can be printed multiple to a page, to be handed out as a warmup as well. Each Card has a QR code so that students can check their answers with their devices or you can use the attached answer key.
There is a set with QR codes and a set without. A blank answer sheet for students to record their answers, as well as an answer key are included to help with grading.
Previews are available so that you can see what the task cards looks like to make sure it is a product you would like to use and enjoy.
