These task cards are designed to help students understand the difference between function and a relation (that is not a function). Many different forms of relations are provided and student need to investigate the given relation to determine whether it is a function or not. The relations are provided in many different forms such as:
* Ordered Pairs
* Mapping Diagrams (Venn Diagrams)
* Table of values (Chart)
* And a notation (in one example)
There are a total of 24 Task Cards in which each of the cards ask the student to:
1. Determine the domain.
2. Determine the range
3. Determine whether the relation is a function or not.
These 24 task cards could be used as a review of the the definition of functions. They could be used in stations, in pair share, in cooperative learning, as exit tickets, as entrance tickets, as to do now, ... etc.
These task cards are included in two different formats. One format includes the answer as a QR code which requires the QR scanner app. In this case, students could check their answers independently and evaluate their understanding which is an awesome way to encourage "independence".
The other format is just simply the task cards without the QR code printed on the card.
The answer key is provided at the end with a student answer sheet as well.
