This is a simple yet effective activity that will get your students moving around and speaking French. Students will practice asking questions in French (using question words and -er verbs). This activity is designed for beginner learners of French.
This activity was inspired by the Kagan's Quiz Quiz Trade cooperative learning activity (also known as task cards).
There are 40 cards each containing a different question. A sample answer is written on the back of the card. Each question has a question word, est-ce que, -er verb, and is written in present tense.
5 questions with "que"
2 questions with "pourquoi"
6 questions with "où"
3 questions with "quand"
4 questions with "comment"
3 questions with "avec qui"
1 question with "qui"
1 question with "pour qui"
1 question with "à qui"
1 question with "à quelle heure"
2 questions with "combien de ..."
9 questions with "quel/quelle"
Front of the card: "Qu'est-ce que tu portes en hiver?"
Back of the card: "Je porte ... (un anorak, un chapeau, une écharpe, des gants)."
1. Print as many cards as there are students in your class so that each student gets at least one card.
2. Cut the cards and laminate them for durability.
3. Distribute one card per student.
4. Students have to get up, pair up with another student, complete the task of the card (answer the question), exchange cards with their partner, pair up with another student and repeat the activity again as many times as you see it fit.
