There are separate graphic organizers that contains examples for finding the missing tax rate, tax dollars, or total cost. The examples show how to find the missing part by using percent of the whole equals the part and the most common way, percent over 100 equals part of whole.
YOUR CHOICE! You have 3 options for which notes you would like to use.
(1) Graphic organizers are done for the students to use for review.
(2) Graphic organizers are intentionally left blank with two examples for the students to fill in as notes for advanced classes.
(3) Graphic organizers are intentionally left blank and only contain one example so students have more room to fill in the notes.
This is a great opportunity for the students to absorb the visuals either independently, in small groups, as a class, or all three! The follow-up questions after each organizer will allow the instructor to informally assess each group or student. The practice problems can be assigned for extra practice or class work. Space is provided to give the students and opportunity to show neat and organized work. Keep an eye out for the Bundle when it arrives! It will include: sales and discounts, gratuity, commission, percent increase and decrease, percent error, and word problems. (The number of pages includes 3 sets of scaffolded notes and 2 pages of practice.)
