No-prep lesson! PPT, card sort activity, practice worksheet, exit ticket, check for understanding questions, student guided notes sheet, and great visuals and video clips!
This PPT has a lot of information so I use guided notes with my students. The words are in red that need to be filled in. Feel free to use or change all the words back to black!
Students start with a grouping activity. I put together 25 pictures of various organisms and cut them all up and distributed them at each lab table. Each group's responsibility was to create 5 groups of 5 based on physical characteristics and environmental factors. Groups included plants, animals with wings, mammals, sea life, and reptiles. I go over the five different groups and then move on into the actual 6 taxonomic kingdoms.
Each Kingdom has a specific slide included whether the organisms are prokaryotic, eukaryotic, unicellular, multicellular, autotrophs, heterotrophs, etc. Students wrap up with a practice worksheet and a 5-question exit ticket.
