A low-tech, educational version of popular match-three games, similar to Bejeweled or Candy Crush Saga.
Print double-sided and cut apart the squares so that the words show on top. Arrange into a 6X9 rectangle with the smiley face in the top row. Swap the positions of two tiles as needed to create a row or column of three or more tiles that characterize the same phylum or group. (For greater challenge: Tiles may only be swapped if they are adjacent, e.g. touching sides or corners.) Double-check that your tiles are a match by looking at the backside of your tiles--the same number must be written on each. If you're right, you can remove those tiles and slide any tiles that remain above them into the hole that is left. The game ends when someone gets the smiley face to the bottom row, and then you compare points!
Match-3: 1 point
Match-4: 2 points
Match-5 or more: 3 points
