Do you have preserved specimens in jars of formaldehyde sitting around in your room collecting dust? Many science teachers do and aren't sure what to do with them. This lab was created with those jars in mind. In this lab, students will be given preserved specimens to look at and will use a classification packet to identify its taxonomic levels. Don't have any specimens available? Don't worry! Pictures have been provided as an alternative.
Note: If you use your own specimens, this is not a print-and-go lab. It will require set-up and pre-lab preparation. However, students love this lab and love looking at preserved specimens! It is worth the work!
