Learning Styles Activities and Critical Thinking:
Help your students truly understand how to write an essay.
Teachers tend to reach their visual and auditory learners regularly and easily. It can be more of a challenge to reach those who learn best while moving. The activities in this package attempt to stimulate several learning styles at once. The hope is, that by asking students to activate multiple learning styles, they will learn not only how to write a good, detailed essay, but also to recognize the importance of the writing process.
The first activity in this package can be applied to any writing situation, and would take one class to complete.
The second activity is designed to lead students toward writing a literary essay. The activity can be applied to ANY text and could take a few days up to several weeks to complete, depending on the text you use.
Included are several graphic organizers, and many opportunities for collaborative learning, critical thinking, problem solving, and student engagement.
