“Teach Kids About Kenya – Jump High with the Maasai” is an engaging, participatory world cultures lesson for about Kenya for kids that invites them to join the Maasai of Kenya and Tanzania in celebrating the transition to adulthood with the amazing Maasai Jumping Dance. Kids will meet the east African nations of Kenya and Tanzania, learn about the Maasai and their coming-of-age ceremony, draw connections between the Maasai and coming-of-age rituals in their own communities (in an age-appropriate way), then get up and JUMP!

All Around This World is a global music and world cultures program that introduces kids and their grown-ups to the world using enlivening international rhythms and movement.

No materials, foreknowledge of Africa or dance ability necessary. Imagination and an open mind required.

Lesson includes:
