Teachers always ask me how I get my Prekindergarten students to read at such a young age. After years of practice and trail and errors with my students I finally was able to put it all together. Now it is ready!!
This pack includes levels 1-3. These three levels are the foundation of reading and is a great way to start. Levels 4-6 , which go into CVC reading , writing, ,and sight words will be available soon.
Teach Me To Read!©
This Reading Intervention Unit is a way to get even the smallest learners reading. I teach Prekindergarten and have seen huge success in my class reading abilities. If you stick with this program your class will be reading before the end of the year regardless of age. Students are able to move through these activities as they are ready and the levels help ensure that all early reading levels are introduced.
All levels include 26 activities that build upon each other as well as assessments and tracking sheets for class and individual students.
Level 1: Letter Identification
Level 2: Letter recognition/Fluency
Level 3: Sound production/Fluency
Level 4: CVC Intro/ writing
Level 5: CVC Read/ fluency
Level 6: Read CVC with Sight words and fluency passages
Addition Resources include: Pre assessment
Sight Word mini books
CVC mini books
Read and match activities
This can be used during intervention or RtI groups. I use this daily with my students and it only takes 15 minutes a day. I schedule 4 to 5 students a day from Monday –Thursday to go over letter of the week. On Friday I assess with the sheets provided to see who is ready to move on and who needs additional help. This is coupled with the basic letter of the week activities and is merely a supplement. If I see that the child is not ready to move on I will schedule additional intervention time the next weeks and for those who are on track or ahead, I will move on to the next activity as necessary. It is not uncommon to have students at different levels, but please do not stop working with some because they have mastered the activities. Continue to move them through the other levels to ensure that all students are having their needs met.
If you are consistent with these interventions your students will be reading in no time.
Look out for levels 4-6 coming soon.
Individual Levels will be available to purchase as well.
