Understanding Place Value has never been more fun! This math center game is the perfect way to allow your students to thinking about the value of the place, as they write and read numbers. Ideal for Math Centers because it caters for all abilities. Print and laminate sets, and READY to GO!
This is a dice game that can be played in pairs, small groups or the whole class.
There are a variety of boards catering from tens up to 100 000.
Players need a die, a game card and a marker.
Players throw a 10-sided die and record their number on their game sheet.
Students quickly realise that the "place" they use for their throw matters a great deal.
At the end, insist the players read the numbers they have created to make sure they fully understand the columns, numbers etc.
As this is a dice game, it also makes students aware of the "chance" or "odds" of their decisions.
I've included directions and suggestions for use.
