Sometimes, it seems like no matter how many times you tell your students not to interrupt you while your working with a small group of students, they do. It can get pretty frustrating, and also can throw your group off their game.
I loved having these signs by my small group table to remind students visually if I’m open to have a conversation with them, or if I’m closed for business (emergencies only).
In my classroom, the signs hang from a clip in which I can easily interchange. You could also print the signs individually, and have them laminated together, allowing for easy flipping of one sign.
So now, instead of reminding students I’m working with a small group, I can quietly point to the sign, giving them a quick reminder!
