This anonymously authored poem has been my mantra for teaching for many years. It sits in a frame in my classroom to remind me of the worth of each child and to be very, very careful with my words, tone, and attitude as we interact. The students won't have lasting memories of everything we did together, but I want them to remember that I loved them. I always put this poem on pretty paper to be the cover of my back-to-school parent packet. I want the parents to know I cherish their children.
