Do you end your year thinking about all of the things you want to change? Personally, my brain starts making a list around March and I typically end up feeling like I want to do EVERYTHING differently. In an effort to stop my "reinventing the wheel" insanity, I decided to close out my year by thinking about my "highlights." I blogged my "Top 10 Highlights of 2014-2015" at tarheelstateteacher.com as the year came to a close.
I found this reflection process to be so valuable that I decided to make an End of Year Reflection tool to help other teachers go through a similar process. While I reflected at the end of the year, it would be just as valuable to you if you reflected in this way prior to beginning your new school year.
This download includes a step-by-step process that helps you move from brainstorming your highlights from previous years to planning to transfer your reflections into your plans for next year. I offered a variety of formats for brainstorming and reflecting. I hope you find this useful as you wrap up a year or begin another!
Let's take time to focus on the positives FIRST as we plan for next year!
