The purpose of this resource is to give you a variety of literacy activities to help your students learn those all important sight words.
*The colored class book can be used whole group, put in your class library or projected and used as a shared reading.
*Add sticky dots underneath each word to help your students understand 1:1 word/voice match.
*Use the cards and pictures to place in a pocket chart for whole group reading. Invite students to come up and use a pointer as the other students follow along and read. Leave out the word that matches the picture and have the students match the word to picture.
*Use the smaller version of the book for students to fill in the missing sight words. Have them put these books into their reading boxes for independent reading time.
*After much practice, use these in a reading center for kids to put the sentences back in order and read to a partner.
*Give them a blank piece of paper with the sentence starter: "The ___ are up in the sky." and let them use their creativity to come up with their own. Put these together into a class book.
The possibilities are endless!
