This download contains multiple titles and is aligned to the new unit of study for 3rd grade from the Teachers’ College Reading and Writing Project out of Columbia University (Mystery: Foundational Skills in Disguise). One thing that has always frustrated me is that the book lists that accompany these staples for building true literacy in students are primarily in English. As a teacher who provides instruction in Spanish, this means you have to spend extra hours beyond the book study and team planning to see what is out there for you.
For this reason, I spent a lot of time creating a list uniquely for the bilingual, dual language, or Spanish Immersion classroom. Yes, some of them are transadaptations, but there are also a number of authors who specifically write for and to a Spanish dominant and/ or Latino audience. There are also graphic organizers in Spanish to teaching the mystery genre.
