This product builds number sense while teaching addition basic facts using eleven strategies based on four different mental super strategies. The 180-page PDF contains a 22-page Teacher's Manual including instructions on how to print each of the three sets of 100 addition basic flash cards. Each of the three sets is designed for a different learning style. The first set uses illustrations of Rekenreks for each of the eleven strategies based on the four super strategies.
The Rekenrek, which can be commercially purchased or made following directions in this product, appeals to students who learn best by manipulating a tangible product. The cards show the set up and the action for each of the eleven mental strategies.
The second set of cards is designed for students who learn from spatial relationships. Each card shows a rectangle representing the whole (sum) with two adjacent rectangles below showing the two parts (addends). The whole is unknown, and the two parts are labeled with a number and the student must use the relative sizes of the parts or the strategies to find the size of the other whole (sum).
The third set of cards is designed for students who learn best in language with rules.
There are 18 student worksheets and 9 self-study pages along with several miscellaneous pages to make it easier for you to use with your students.
