This 5-page document can be adapted for any grade level and available time. The document includes an analogy of a microscope to compare, example of weak and strong body paragraphs, a worksheet of the microscope to outline the strong body paragraph, an activity for the students to create their own analogy with a short writing activity, and a graphic organizer to analyze a passage/quotation from a text to use in a paragraph. These worksheets are easily transitioned into your own writing lessons and assignments, and could easily take 10 minutes or an entire 77 minute block, depending on how in-depth you choose to get. To be clear, the document is not a "how to teach writing" or "how to teach body paragraphs" document. It is a set of useful worksheets that will allow a skilled teacher to differentiate the teaching of body paragraphs while creating connections between the concept and the individual student. Thanks for your interest.
