Getting your students to understand imagery can be difficult. However, don’t give up. You can get your students to “see” what the author is seeing.
The following is a collection of poems and flash fiction stories that contain imagery. You will use them to help your students locate and discuss the imagery in them.
Have your students read the poem or the text, answer some simple questions, and then discuss the images that each selection created. These easy exercises will get your students to think critically about what they are reading and the message the author is trying to convey.
