Looking for a way to spice up your lessons? Why not use emoji? Students already use these fun pictures when texting with friends, so why not grab onto that and use them in class? Students love this activity where they are asked to rewrite a text message written with emoji into a complete sentence with an interjection. It is clear to students that interjections convey an emotion when they have a familiar picture with which to compare it. This is a lesson consisting of four printable worksheets that can be completed as part of a literacy center, as a whole group lesson, or as homework. We hope you and your students have as much fun with the lesson as we do!
