Kids love Mad Libs, but teachers rarely use them for educational purposes. This packet is created for teachers who want to teach grammar and have some fun with your students.
To motivate your students, start off with creating a Mad Lib (Jingle Bell) with the whole class.
Then, let students know it is important we know the part-of-speech of words as many Mad Libs require us to know the specific grammar terms. Use the student friendly graphic organizer, and brainstorm different verbs, nouns, adjectives and adverbs. At the same time, teach them what these terms mean by using the PowerPoint Presentation. Put students' examples on the slideshow so their responses are highlighted.
Finally, ask students to fill out another Mad Lib which will help them create their own Rudolph song. They can share and sing the song with their friends.
* The slideshow also include the melodies of Jingle Bells and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, so students can sing along..
