Yes! A teacher can teach plot in a class period. Teaching students the storyline that takes place in a narrative can have a powerful effect on the readers comprehension. When a student can analyze plot, setting, and problem resolution, they must do more than identify events, setting, and problem. When a student analyzes these items, they must make conclusions about how they affect the story and its outcome. This teaching packet includes a lesson plan, powerpoint, worksheets, and graphic organizers. These items were used in my own classroom so they are kid tested.
