PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This lesson plan is the third in a series of ninety-six Speaking and Listening lessons designed to teach lower-grade-level students (kindergarten and above) all about Public Speaking. The lesson focuses on the fact that facial expressions can help us communicate better, and teaches that such nonverbal communication is able to (1) convey concern, sincerity and credibility, (2) demand attention, (3) reveal passion, and (4) contribute to comprehension and retention. During guided practice, students engage in making different types of facial expressions, and as a culminating activity, recite familiar rhymes or songs accompanied by facial expressions that add to the meaning of their words.
