This is a stand alone lesson for teaching RACE strategies for answering questions in a Close Read. Students learn the meaning of the acronym RACE as well as the component of a thorough answer. Together, you will construct and review the anchor chart that you and your students can use the entire year to remember the RACE strategy. This lesson can be taught in isolation, or with the rest of my comprehension and reading strategy lessons.
