This is a stand- alone lesson plan on introducing the concept of setting to your students. In it, you will build an anchor chart, step-by-step that students will use all year to master the concept of setting. In addition, you will teach students how to talk about the setting of a story with a partner. You add an interactive read aloud and provide independent reading time at the end of the lesson. After your read-aloud and independent reading time, provide students with the opportunity to talk about the setting with a partner and you are well on your way to your students mastering this concept. If you and your students enjoy this resource, don't forget to pick up the rest of my comprehension and reading strategy lessons. Also available are the anchor charts featured in this lesson for year-round display. Thank you and- as always- Blessings!
