Do you use Creative Curriculum’s Teaching Strategies Gold in your classroom? After using it for the past 6 years, I have found each year, as I approached a new curriculum, I was scrambling to come up with the materials I would need for each unit. With this set, you won’t have to! Utilizing this set in your classroom, you will have all of the materials necessary to create an Anchor Chart reflecting the “Exercise” unit. This downloadable set includes the TSG Anchor Chart topics of:
- What do we know about Exercise? What do we want to find out?
- What are different types of exercise?
- How do our bodies work when we exercise?
- What do our bodies need in order to move and exercise?
- How do people stay safe when they exercise?
Each topic features child-friendly picture cards to correspond with each topic, prompting active teacher-student discussion and interaction. Exploring each topic, students can share what they know about Exercise in a way that makes sense to them, with topic questions and visual aides that are targeted towards young visual learners.
To best use this set, print, laminate, and cut. I prefer to add a small magnet piece to the back of each item, so that I can use it with my students on our white board. The pictures used in this set are surrounded by a black square, and are the perfect size for young children to utilize themselves, with guidance. While this set is designed around the TSG curriculum, the opportunities for use are endless!
In addition, this “Exercise” unit features an additional "Ideas to Celebrate Learning" at the end of the set, including materials for a game, a letter to send home to families about your study, a homework graphing project, a favorite fruit graphing set, and dramatic play doctor sheets for mini-clipboards!
This set also includes 3 pages of clickable links to books relating to exercise and the human body, as well as a page of external links to videos aimed at young children!
