This is a photo story that I created for my PLC. It is a great tool to use, whether you are leading a PLC or are the administrator of a school. This tool explains the importance of effectively using the strategy of Identifying Similarities and Differences in order to get students involved in higher order thinking. This resource explains the use of the strategy and focuses on the four types of activities that a teacher should use in order to teach the strategy. (comparisons, student directed comparisons, graphic organizers, and classification) The photo story also explains the importance of using metaphors and analogies as tools to introduce and enhance higher order thinking.
The total duration is 4 minutes 26 seconds.
This is an excellent tool to generate discussion and to share resources.
This is an awesome resource to use in a faculty meeting or for PD!
