Product Description

The Free Response Questions on the AP English Literature Exam are rigorous and complex. Some students feel overwhelmed by the essays, especially when it comes to FRQ 1 and 2. Students only have 40 minutes to write the essay which asks them to analyze a poem or passage and discuss how literary devices reveal tone, meaning, etc. This handout helps students who don't even know where to start. The handout goes over each paragraph and what students should do. It also gives an example of what each paragraph should look like. Remember, there is not magical format, but this will help those students who are struggling with how to even organize. The example paragraphs are based upon the prompt having to do with "Mystery of the Caves," which will be on CollegeBoard's website.
