Product Description
Common Core mini-lesson created by The House of Roush to review the elements of suspense with intermediate level students.

Students watch the Pixar short "The Toy Story of Terror" (teachers will need to purchase the DVD) and analyze it for suspense, setting, foreshadow, irony and traditional scary movie elements. Asks students to justify their answers with evidence and explanation. 8th grade Common Core reading standards are specifically addressed despite it being a "movie" lesson.

This is a great "into" lesson to use with a scary story unit, as part of a bigger Plot unit, or just for fun before Halloween.
