Product Description
I have had a lot of success using an excerpt (Chapter 1: The Curriculum and Chapter 2: The Syllabus) from Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom to teach syntax, specifically helping students recognize when a shorter, simpler sentence “packs more punch” than a longer, seemingly more sophisticated one.

I typically use this lesson as an introduction to Tuesdays with Morrie; however, it can definitely be used as a stand-alone syntax lesson.

This lesson includes notes for the teacher, two video links, a handout for students, the novel excerpt, and instructions for the assignment.

I hope you and your students enjoy this lesson and find it helpful and beneficial.
