Identifying theme is an important skill for readers. I created these resources to reinforce common themes with my students throughout the year:
-the posters are displayed in our reading area for students to refer to all year long.
-the headings are mounted on colorful paper or a bulletin board to categorize the books we've read according to their theme. We add the covers of the books to have a visual reminder of which books fit which theme.
-the student reference rings are handy when students are working at their seats on theme practice. They can grab the ring of theme mini posters and have a reference right at their fingertips. They're also the perfect size for reader's notebooks.
-the theme bookmarks are also a great reference for students…and who doesn't love a good bookmark?
