Description

Teaching theme can be a real challenge. Not only is theme a tricky concept for students to grasp, but it can be hard to find the right examples to use. But don’t worry! This hands-on, engaging ELA In Action Game is designed to help students practice identifying themes in literature and analyze their development over the course of a text. It will also help students practice writing thematic statements for short stories and poems based on various topics.

We've included seven leveled texts for the game, but you could choose to use any text you'd like with the resources we've created ... simply follow the same rules and play with the text of your choice!
