In this packet you will find a booklet that you can print and use for students to learn about proving Trig Identities. This booklet would best be used as scaffolded notes. There is something about having all of their notes in a little book that students love Much more exciting than writing in a notebook!
In this notebook, students are presented with seven example problems that the teacher can go through and 7 “you try it” problems that the student can use to practice. On each “you try it” page a QR Code is given that students can scan for a hint. Students need to be able to work with the Reciprocal Identities, Pythagorean Identities, and Double Angle Identities (problems 6 and 7 only). More practice problems are included on the back cover. [A bonus word search is included with some trig identity vocabulary].
The pages that follow are formatted so that they can be printed in booklet format. You will have to print them back to back using your printer or a copier. (Consult your printer or copier for further directions.) Although it may look as if the pages are in the wrong order, after they are printed and folded the students will have a nice booklet they can use.
An answer key is provided.
