PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This unit includes two Smartboard introductions, a small assignment to scaffold students to the larger assignment, and a mini unit plan to explain how each of the products have been used in my classroom.

The first SmartNote File includes an introduction to Value as an element of art giving the definition of shades and tints. It also gets students started on the mini assignment which allows them to practice mixing shades and tints.

The second SmartNote file gives a brief history of the Canadian Group of Seven with a focus on Lawren Harris. It introduces the large project where students are required to match black and grey values with an appropriate shade or tint from a color of their choice.
