I am using my notes from research, seminars and lectures to develop a series of free eBooks on some useful topics, mainly to teachers. The first of these topics is Teaching with Technology. My emphasis is selecting the "Free Stuff". Yes, there is a lot of stuff on the internet that you can use to enhance your teaching and it will not cost you a dime. There is also some low cost teaching aids that can be worth their weight in gold in delivering your courses to your students.
There are many computer software tools to assist teachers in delivering their curriculum. There are far too many to list and describe in one book. I have attempted to gather a few basic tools that every teacher, no matter what they teach, can use.
At school, we may work with various commercial products like Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, Serif, Photoshop, etc.. These are usually quite expensive and often we do not have them on our home computers. This limits our ability to get any computer work done after hours. It may even require staying at school after hours to finish work. All of the software I discuss in this book is totally free.
Thse FREE alternatives do not have names that you see in the magazines or newspaper, but many of these software programs can read and produce files compatible with the commercial software offerings. Those that are unaware of these offerings and willing to try them, this ebook is for you.
