This is a one-day lesson that was created by a peer of Contextual Classroom with the goal of helping students take ownership of their behaviors in school, while gaining a deeper understanding of the meaning of respect. This lesson helps students understand the multiple meanings of respect and what it looks like, feels like, and sounds like in a variety of situations.
The lesson asks students to expand their personal definitions of respect and brainstorm with peers on how to change disrespectful behaviors. This lesson incorporates partner work, class discussion, media clips, and poetry writing.
The Powerpoint and the activity packet are available separately.
