This huge resource is packed full of pre-reading, during-reading, and post-reading activities to use for a short story unit. Each resource is fully editable and general enough to be used with ANY story or even novel. The pack includes valuable resources geared toward a complete discussion of literary elements such as plot, point of view, setting, character and characterization, theme, irony, and symbol. Activities are geared toward both the individual and the group, with keys and rubrics where appropriate, and are a good blend of multiple learning styles and traditional and technology-based methodologies.
From my "Product Information" page:
There follows a listing and handouts, where applicable, for several different pre-, during, and post-reading activities. Any of these can be used for the stories you select for your short story unit—simply consider which ones seem to work best with which stories. Many will also work great with different novel studies.
All of the handouts are fully editable, including page layout and design. I’ve made it very easy for you, leaving everything in a single, simple-to-use Power Point file.
Page layouts can be changed from landscape to portrait if you prefer; simply change the text size to fit more accurately upon the page you are using when you do so. This change can be made in the “Design” tab.
Everything you need is right here, so no need to move from file to file. To use any of the slides as a Power Point, simply position your cursor on the slide you’d like to start with and click on the “Slide Show” tab to get started. Additionally, any appropriate answer keys follow the accompanying page for immediate and natural proximity.
Please enjoy, have happy teaching days, and let me know if you have any questions!
