Make the most of your ANTARCTICA TOOB figures with these activities from the “Teaching with TOOBS” collection. This set uses the ten figures in the Antarctica TOOB—emperor penguin, rockhopper penguin, chinstrap penguin, sperm whale, humpback whale, blue whale, albatross, fur seal, orca, and crabeater seal—and includes the following resources:
- The MONTESSORI MATCHING MAT builds sorting and classifying skills, vocabulary development, and knowledge of the Antarctic ecosystem.
-The ROLL AND COVER ADDITION GAME is a fun way to practice addition skills. Add a set of dice and let children roll their way to mastery. Children roll the dice, add the two numbers together, and then cover the sum with the matching TOOB figure.
-Add some magnetic letters to the MISSING LETTERS MATCHING CARDS to create a language arts game.
-Sort and graph figures by animal class or characteristics with the two GRAPHING MATS.
Technical info: Each image is a high-resolution photograph with a minimum of 300 dpi, and I’ve repeated the same photos throughout the set to further reinforce vocabulary development.
P.S.-If you’re not familiar with Safari TOOBS, I’ve included “What, Why, and Where to Buy” information in the preview.
