Make the most of your ARCTIC ANIMALS TOOBS figures with these activities from the “Teaching with TOOBS” collection. This set uses the ten figures in the Arctic TOOB—polar bear, arctic hare, arctic fox, orca, walrus, Husky, Beluga whale, caribou, harp seal, and igloo—and includes the following resources:
- The MONTESSORI MATCHING MAT builds sorting and classifying skills, vocabulary development, and knowledge of the Arctic Tundra biome.
-The ROLL AND COVER ADDITION GAME is a fun way to practice addition skills. Add a set of dice and let children roll their way to mastery. Children roll the dice, add the two numbers together, and then cover the sum with the matching TOOB figure.
-SYLLABLE SOUND-OFF is a set of 10 photo cards with a choice of numbers. Children match the photos and figures, say the word (or words), then clip the correct number of syllables.
Technical info: Each image is a high-resolution photograph with a minimum of 300 dpi, and I’ve repeated the same photos throughout the set to further reinforce vocabulary development.
P.S.-If you’re not familiar with Safari TOOBS, I’ve included “What, Why, and Where to Buy” information in the preview.
