Make the most of your EXOTIC BIRDS TOOB® figures with these activities from the “Teaching with TOOBS” collection. This set uses the 11 figures in the TOOB®— parakeet, quetzal, white ibis, macaw, snowy owl, cockatoo, hummingbird, flamingo, keel-billed toucan, parrot, and hibiscus flower— and includes the following resources:
- The MONTESSORI MATCHING MAT builds sorting and classifying skills, vocabulary development, and knowledge of birds.
-The ROLL AND COVER ADDITION GAME is a fun way to practice addition skills. Add a set of dice and let children roll their way to mastery. Children roll the dice, add the two numbers together, and then cover the sum with the matching TOOB® figure.
-3-PART MATCHING CARDS provide multiple choices for the Science Center. Match figures to names, fact cards to photos, figures to fact cards, and so on.
-The flamingo and quetzal drawings are from the BIRDS OF THE WORLD series and include interesting facts about each bird.
Technical info: Each image is a high-resolution photograph with a minimum of 300 dpi, and I’ve repeated the same photos throughout the set to further reinforce vocabulary development.
P.S.-If you’re not familiar with Safari TOOBS®, I’ve included “What, Why, and Where to Buy” information in the preview.
