Make the most of your TOOB® figures with these activities from the “Teaching with TOOBS” collection. This set uses the 12 figures from the GALAPAGOS TOOB — giant tortoise, Sally Lightfoot crab, Galapagos penguin, marine lizard, Galapagos shark, land iguana, blue-footed booby bird, red-footed booby bird, fur seal, green sea turtle, Frigatebird, and Galapagos hawk— and includes the following resources:
- The MONTESSORI PHOTO MATCHING MAT builds sorting and classifying skills, vocabulary, and knowledge of the unique animals of the Galapagos Islands.
-The ROLL AND COVER ADDITION GAME makes learning addition fun. Just add a set of dice and let children roll their way to mastery. Children roll the dice, add the two numbers together, and then cover the sum with the matching TOOB figure.
-Game your way to reading and science success with the MULTIPLE MATCHING CARDS, which include a “fun fact card,” name card, photo card, and beginning sound card for each figure.
Technical info: The files are in PDF format, combined into a single zip drive. The images are high-resolution photographs. For best results, duplicate the activities on cardstock, photo, or similar heavy paper; and laminate.
NOTE: If you’re not familiar with Safari TOOBS, I’ve included “What, Why, and Where to Buy” information in the preview.
P.S.-Add a multicultural element to your study with the DISCOVER ECUADOR set, which includes a SNAPSHOTS book, SYMBOLS OF ECUADOR and GALAPAGOS posters, and activities highlighting the SCIENTIFIC METHOD, GEOGRAPHY, and LITERACY.
