The INSECTS TOOB® is jam-packed with 14 figures. This set from the “Teaching with TOOBS®” collection uses the 10 insect figures—red butterfly, blue butterfly, grasshopper, praying mantis, ant, cockroach, ladybug, dragonfly, bee, and housefly—plus the caterpillar.
The set includes the following resources, in both English and Spanish:
- The MONTESSORI MATCHING MAT builds sorting and classifying skills, vocabulary development, knowledge of insects, and beginning Spanish words;
-The ROLL AND COVER ADDITION GAME is a fun way to practice addition skills. Add a set of dice and let children roll their way to mastery. Children roll the dice, add the two numbers together, and then cover the sum with the matching TOOB® figure; and
-3-PART MATCHING CARDS provide multiple choices for the Science Center. Match figures to names, figures to Spanish names, Spanish to English names, and so on.
Technical info: Each image is a high-resolution photograph with a minimum of 300 dpi, and I’ve repeated the same photos throughout the set to further reinforce vocabulary development.
NOTE: I didn’t use the centipede, spider, or scorpion figures, since they are not insects. You can save them to sort by insect/non-insect or add them to a sensory box.
P.S.-If you’re not familiar with Safari TOOBS®, I’ve included “What, Why, and Where to Buy” information in the preview.
