Make the most of your LAND DOWN UNDER TOOB figures with these activities from the “Teaching with TOOBS” collection. This set uses 11 figures from the Land Down Under TOOB— emu, Tasmanian devil, cockatoo, frilled lizard, koalas, crocodile, dingo, wombat, duck-billed platypus, red kangaroo, and taipan— and includes the following resources:
- The MONTESSORI MATCHING MAT builds sorting and classifying skills, vocabulary development, and knowledge of the continent of Australia.
-The ROLL AND COVER ADDITION GAME is a fun way to practice addition skills. Add a set of dice and let children roll their way to mastery. Children roll the dice, add the two numbers together, and then cover the sum with the matching TOOB figure.
-The MATCH AND SPELL cards can be used to write words (with a dry-erase marker on laminated cards) or to spell them with magnetic letters.
-Sort the figures by animal class with the GRAPHING MAT.
Technical info: Each image is a high-resolution photograph with a minimum of 300 dpi, and I’ve repeated the same photos throughout the set to further reinforce vocabulary development.
P.S.-If you’re not familiar with Safari TOOBS, I’ve included “What, Why, and Where to Buy” information in the preview.
