Created as a final activity for an ESL Newcomer class to use the last few days of the school year. It was meant to take time. For best result do not rush the thought process.
This class was 3rd-9th graders.
*Students form (or are assigned into) teams of 3-4 people.
*Can have 1 cell phone or electronic device as a tool per team.
*Teams are completely autonomous, they choose who performs when it's one person and choose songs etc.
*Certain activities will need a time limit.
Students must translate and understand activities. Whole team must understand.
(This can be done ahead of start or during activity.)
Clip paper to a personal whiteboard ( mine had alphabet and numbers printed on board but the paper covered it up. I used the printed letters as a differentiation tool for students with less English acquisition.)
Dry erase marker
Copy of sheet on clipboard
post it pad or some kind of paper for taking notes and keeping score
Measuring sticks or tape (enough for each team)
Printed pages, books, textbook for reading and writing activities)
Dictionaries or other resources if electronic devices are not possible.
Teacher cell phone for time management and other needs.
Stop watch if cell not possible.
