I teach a K-5 class called 4 C’s. In this class, I design and develop activities that
give students an opportunity to practice essential 21st century skills such as
collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity.
This activity focuses on collaboration and communication. I find that
sometimes my students are focused on their own successes and agendas,
and have a difficult time slowing down to rely on the, often necessary, help
from others. Blind drawing forces them to rely on their partner for critical
instructions to complete the process.
Each partner will have a sheet of paper with a picture made of various shapes. Keeping the picture hidden from his/her partner, the student will have to be very descriptive to explain the drawing so that the partner can try and recreate the image on his/her own paper.
This is an excellent exercise to help the students build communication and collaboration skills, as well as patience! This pack contains 3 levels of drawings, and 3 varieties in each level!
