In the “Team/Pair/Solo” activity
1. First, Students work in groups of 4 to complete 5 review problems on Slope, Distance, and Midpoint.
2. Secondly, Students work in partners to complete 5 similar review problems on Slope, Distance, and Midpoint.
(In steps 1 and 2, the teacher circulates acting as a facilitator and answering questions about which the group cannot reach consensus.)
3. Then, knowing of the plan from the beginning, students must work independently relying on their notes or their worksheets from the Group of 4 or the Partners work to complete this worksheet of 10 problems.
This activity helps students learn responsibility! A short PowerPoint is provided that includes a bell ringer and the directions for the activity. Also included is a suggestion on how to form the groups. This activity aligns with CCSSM 8.EE.5 and CCSSM 8.G.8
