Description

Want to be the coolest Technology Teacher ever?
Want students to take ownership of learning a new strategy and excited to do it? Make Your Own Music: Song Creation brings unyielding fun for all classes!

Made for use with:
PC
Mac
Chromebook
All resources are organized for assigning through Google Classroom!

The Pitch: Tell the students that you heard this song and ask them if it would be OK to get their opinion. You play our provided sample song or (one that you made) and get their feedback. You then drop the ball that THEY can make a song just like this or better with what we're going to learn today! Make it a '5 second dance party' or a discussion introduction...flexible and fun is at the core of this lesson!

With this 4 day lesson, you will be able to introduce a new tool for students to compose their own music! No, they don't need to know anything about writing music either! All they need is an interest in listening to sound clips of their choice and put them together!

Yes, it's that easy! Students love the freedom of this project and with amazing results which they are proud to call their own "Beat!"

After teaching this to my middle school students for 3 class periods and 1 extra to listen to their songs...I found them still using this free resource 4 months later! I never asked for extra work, they took this on themselves to create great pieces of work!
