Tired of the same ole PowerPoint routine? Get your students up and moving with this Technological Innovations QR Code WebQuest! This activity is perfect for any business or social studies course teaching about innovations. This file includes 10 QR codes that when scanned link to different websites. Students will then hunt for the year, purpose of the innovation, and impact of the innovation within the text. Innovations included: automobile, airplane, printing press, assembly line, sewing machine, cotton gin, steam engine, computer, Internet, and telephone. This activity is a great way to get students researching and collaborating. Students can work individually or in small groups based on your discretion.

This activity pairs well with the Evolution of Business E-book Project or Business Technology Project which can be purchased in the Business Girl store.

•Print a student handout for each student and one class set of QR codes. Print student handout front and back to conserve paper.•Cut each slide in half so there is one QR code per sheet of paper.•Hang the QR codes around the classroom, a hallway, or the school.•Decide if you would like students to complete the activity individually, with a partner, or a small group. Assign partner(s) if desired.•Ensure students have access to a QR code reader on a device. This can be completed with a phone, tablet, or laptop, as long as it has a camera.•Instruct students that they can start at any QR code. They will scan the code to visit the webpage needed to complete the student handout.
•After students have completed the WebQuest, they will turn over their handout to assemble a timeline and answer the reflection questions.•Close with a discussion about correct answers.
